Meike 35mm f/1.7 (For Canon EF-M, Fujifilm X, Micro Four Thirds, Sony E mounts)
Recommended by Joy Celine Asto | $69.99 – $79.99 | Available via B&H, Amazon
I’ve been hearing great things about this cheap lens for various mounts, so I got one for my Olympus PEN Mini Micro Four Thirds camera. I’ve only been shooting with it for a couple of months, and I’m liking the results so far. If you or a fellow photographer are on the lookout for an affordable everyday lens, this is could be worth considering — especially if you don’t mind playing around with a manual focus lens once in a while.
Starry Landscape Stacker
Recommended by Bob Coates | Read Article | From $59.99; Available via Apple
If you want to up your Milky Way image captures making multiple exposures is the way to go. Multiple exposures allow you to attain more detail with less noise in your skies. To make this work, you need to stack the images. There are two software programs to help you with that. Sequator is a free software available for PC users. The application I use is Starry Landscape Stacker for Mac computers. At $59.99, it makes stacking exposures for the Milky Way pretty slick. There’s an easy way to select the sky and allow the software to remove noise while enhancing the amount of stars and nebula information to be seen.
