Tamron 70-300 Sony E-mount lens

Out of the box, it’s pretty simple to use. It runs on power, so it’s not really suitable out of the studio, but it’s ready to go once plugged in. This light is quite powerful. You can set it anywhere from 1% to 100%. I have used it for product shoots, behind-the-scenes and setup videos and of course, for portraits. This has quickly become one of my favourite lights in the studio.

One of the biggest problems people seem to have with any drawing tablet is hand-eye coordination. Using a display tablet that allows you to draw directly onto the tablet can overcome this. Personally, I didn’t have a problem with that and even found myself constantly looking at my monitor anyway. Old habits die hard, I guess. The Kamvas 13 is truly lovely to work with and on. The size isn’t too bad and it comes with a handy stand. I have found smaller displays to hard to see and large displays take up too much room. I think the 13″ sits (almost) in the Goldilocks zone (just right).

Neweer X17 Remote Teleprompter

I have been looking for a high-quality affordable teleprompter that could expand if I decide to go to for a pro-sized iPad and would still work with the 10-inch versions. Enter the Neweer X17 Remote Teleprompter. It comes in a carrying case (it’s kind of flimsy so not for checking on an airline.) The teleprompter itself is on a solid, adjustable base that has 1/4” and 3/8” holes for mounting a baseplate for any tripod. It is quick to set up and center any camera whether it has a battery base or not. It will hold up to 44 pounds. It has an included remote control to run the free Neweer Teleprompter app for iPad or Galaxy tablets.

Gotta love a tool that makes your body feel better after using it. Following my use of the standing/sitting desk i no longer have backaches when I’ve got to spend a long time doing post-production or judging images via Zoom. If I start to get a little uncomfortable, I push a button and my desk moves to a standing position. Getting a little tired there? You got it. Push the sitting position button and I’m back there. If I want a slightly different position that’s a piece of cake as well. Who knew working at your desk could be so fun??
