Welcome to the weekly Light Stalking community wrap up!
When it comes to classic themes in photography, the intertwined relationship of light and shadow has to be on the top 3. Naturally, light flows throughout the entire universe. But only when obstructed, its presence turns into a storytelling element of the scene. If duality is something we all crave — as we saw last week — then light and shadow has to be the photographic flavour of such a condition.
As a concept, we could think of “light and shadow” as the visible phenomena produced by light getting obstructed with the scene. We can think of this observable thing as an abysmal source of signs and visual artefacts for us to capture with our craft. For a reduced fragment of time, we use our cameras to grab something of the scene; light and shadow at the core.
This week, Tersha introduced a new set based just on this well-seasoned theme. More specifically, the massive contrast evolving our whole existence, the one imposed by day and night. For it, our talented community went above and beyond with perspective, deep-shadows, textures, drama and more!
Photo of the Week
Simple, effective, parsimonious and absolute beauty! This image was posted in the aforementioned thread and drew attention in such an aesthetic way that I simply couldn't resist highlighting it as the photograph of the week.
Congrats and Max welcome to our place, I'm sure you'll find us to be friendly and always willing to help.
