Camera bag makers taz + tez have added to their range of stylish camera accessories with an elegant Camera Strap to match your taz + tez bag. With clips to remove the strap quickly when necessary, this is a handy addition to your camera kit. In this taz + tez Camera Strap review we’ll take a look at its features.
Camera straps were not on my radar when I first started learning photography. I used the Canon strap that came with my camera, usually wound several times around my wrist, and that was it. It was only once I started shooting professionally that I realised the value of a good strap.
I now use several different straps and holding systems for my camera, depending on what I’m doing. For long day weddings, for example, a belt mount is the easiest way for me to carry multiple cameras and heavy lenses. For shooting over sand or water I like to add a wrist strap for insurance. The taz + tez Camera Strap falls into the category of shoulder or neck strap – perfect for those who need to be able to go hands-free.
Note: I received the Camera Strap in exchange for honest review. All opinions are my own.
Pros
- Quick-release buckles make it easy to remove the strap when you don’t need it attached
- Small profile but strong buckles will hide away easily on the camera when strap is not attached
- Will support up to 5kg making it suitable for large camera and lens combinations
- Can use as a shoulder strap, neck strap or crossbody for smaller people
Cons
- The strap cannot be adjusted for length (it’s a fixed size)
- Better suited for smaller frames if you intend to use as a cross-body strap

taz + tez Camera Strap — Ergonomics and build quality
The build quality of the taz + tez Camera Strap is lovely. It looks sleek, elegant, and matches the quality and appearance of the rest of the taz + tez range, such as the Pippa Shoulder Camera Bag, the Archy Modular Camera Backpack V2 and the Lens Cap Keeper.
Heavy-duty vegan leather is used for the strap. The stitching appears high quality and the strap narrows near the connection points, keeping it out of the way of shooting.
The wide band makes it a comfortable and sturdy strap to wear. For a shoulder carry between locations the strap distributes the weight well.
taz + tez Camera Strap review — In the field
The wide strap distributes the weight well and it’s easy to slip over your shoulder or neck to keep your camera close at hand.
For me, the strap is too short for crossbody, but on a smaller person, the strap can double as a crossbody as well. I use straps for safety when photographing near water – or over a newborn baby! – and this strap definitely ticks those boxes.
taz + tez Camera Strap — Ease of use
The quick release buckles are tight, which gives confidence in their ability to hold up against heavy rigs without accidentally unbuckling. It’s similar in concept to a Peak Design strap with the toggles staying attached to the camera, while the strap is removable. For example, you might like to have both color straps and switch them out to match which taz + tez bag you’re using.
The technical specifications of the strap state that the buckles will hold up to 5kg so these will be suitable for most camera and lens combinations.
taz + tez Camera Strap — Final thoughts
This camera strap will appeal to photographers who want their accessories to match their personal style. Coming in both black and tan variations, the strap will sit perfectly alongside your taz + tez Archy backpack or Pippa shoulder bag. It will suit photographers who shoot weddings, events, corporate and commercial: anywhere style matters.
The taz + tez camera strap is thoughtfully built, with a quality feel that aligns beautifully to the other products in the taz + tez range. There’s no compromising function for style in this strap: the handy buckles make it easy to switch out straps to match your taz + tez bag, and it provides a comfortable carry on shoulder or neck. It’s a strap that will find a place in any style-conscious photographer’s kit.
